Tattooing Your Zodiac Sign Onto Your Face Is The Latest Trend
They're dubbed Astro Frecks, and they're actually pretty cool.
Cosmetic tattoo artist Jessica Knapik has turned a niche beauty treatment into something much more eye-catching, and a little more personal. Instead of the usual freckles, her latest body modification trend stamps zodiac signs onto faces in the shape of each person’s star sign.
Astrology already has a loyal following, so it makes sense that Astro Frecks would catch on fast. For people who love zodiac culture, the idea blends permanent makeup, self-expression, and a playful nod to the universe.
Now the trend is getting attention for all the right reasons, and a few surprising ones too.
Tattoos are no longer taboo.
Thrust into the mainstream, as many as 145 million people in the United States have at least one tattoo. However, it was all the way back in the 1930s when cosmetic tattoos became a thing, courtesy of tattooist George Burchett.

A major trend of tattooing freckles on the freckle-deprived grew in popularity, and now it's taken on a whole new meaning with Knapik's creative technique of placing them in the star shape of one's astrological sign.
magicbrowsFreckles are all the rage in the modeling industry, so this double whammy is actually pretty cool if astrological signs are your jam.
It’s a lot like the Reddit user choosing a therapy dog over a friend’s severe allergies.
Once healed, Astro Frecks look incredibly natural. Knapik says they look pronounced at first, and that's normal.
Tattooed freckles are considered permanent, but they will fade over time.
That’s where the trend starts to feel even more personal.
In an interview with Inked Mag, Knapik said:
“It’s a cute, personal, secret way to connect your sign and the universe to your body. I used to draw caricatures of famous people when I was little, fashion designs, and animals.”What do you think? Would you get this type of tattoo? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section now.
