Disney+ Banana Bowl Surprise: Beauty and the Beast Cast Joined the Savannah Bananas Before a Jonas Brothers Set

The Oct. 10 Banana Bowl on Disney+ featured the Beauty and the Beast tour cast and a ninth-inning performance by the Jonas Brothers.

Disney fans got an unusual crossover on Oct. 10, when Banana Ball brought a touring Disney stage cast and Disney Legends onto the same baseball field. At the Banana Bowl at National Park in Washington, D.C., the Savannah Bananas were part of a Disney+ stream that mixed the game with musical performances.

One of the event’s Disney tie-ins came from Beauty and the Beast. The North American tour cast joined the Savannah Bananas for an on-field performance. Kyra Belle Johnson appeared as Belle and Danny Gardner performed as Lumiere. In the clip below, the number is credited as being choreographed by Jennifer Rias.

The Bananas were one of the featured teams at the Banana Bowl. For anyone coming to this from the Disney side rather than the baseball side, the Savannah Bananas are a professional baseball team known for a creative, entertainment-heavy style of play called Banana Ball. The team also already has a Disney parks connection, having had its own day at Disneyland twice.

The Disney presence did not stop with Beauty and the Beast. During the ninth inning, the Jonas Brothers, who are Disney Legends, came out for a performance that included Burnin’ Up, Waffle House and Sucker.

That means the main update for viewers is straightforward: the Oct. 10 Banana Bowl stream on Disney+ was not just about the game itself. The broadcast folded in a Beauty and the Beast tour appearance and a Jonas Brothers set as part of the festivities, giving Disney fans two separate reasons to tune in.
