My best friend, Lily (23F) and I (22F) have been besties for 4 years. I got a knack for handmade gifts in general, especially crochet and knitting.

2 months ago, I crocheted a personalized name tag keychain for Lily as per her request for her birthday gift. I designed and made the pattern from scratch.

I'm usually very meticulous about my handmade gifts as I want them to be sturdy and long lasting. Lily was very happy when she received it and even held it out to boast to our friends.

About a month ago, she texted me, devastated as she had lost it, even took photo of the broken clasp that was suppose to hold the keychain together. I accepted that it was my poor craftmanship and materials used.

She asked for me to make an exact same one as replacement. I did with newly bought better materials, tested it to make sure the metal clasps and keyring chain are sturdy, even used tools like pliers to test the durability.

With that, I made 2 new ones, one that she can carry about, the other for her little sentimental display at home, I even told her it was the best I could've done at that point and I hope that she can take care of it properly, she swore and promised. But just last week, she came crying to me again, having lost the replacement AND misplaced the one for sentimental collection somewhere at home.

I knew she has always been clumsy, but never constantly lose things, I take fault for it the first time, but I told her that it was her responsibility for the second time. She wanted me to make it again but I told her no.
