Do you know what I'm used to? Things turning out worse than I anticipated!

Yes, I'd say this happens most of the time. I have high hopes for pretty much everything (ever the optimist), and most of the time, my expectations aren't met...like at all.

When they are met, though, or even exceeded, well, that's something special. Off the top of my head, the most memorable time it ever happened was when I went to Paris.

I had heard that it stunk, was covered in dog poop, that the people were rude, and that I wouldn't be able to breathe because of cigarette smoke. Everything told me I'd hate it there, and honestly, they were wrong.

It was nothing of the sort. It was gorgeous, and I wish I had stayed longer.
