Bill Wyman marks 90th birthday with a 10 CD Rhythm Kings box set spanning studio cuts, live shows and rarities
Bill Wyman’s Rhythm Kings Ultimate Collection arrived Oct. 9 with 144 tracks, rarities, live recordings and a limited signed print edition.
Bill Wyman is celebrating a major milestone with a deep dive into one of his biggest post Rolling Stones projects. A new 10 CD set, Bill Wyman’s Rhythm Kings Ultimate Collection, was released on Oct. 9 to coincide with his 90th birthday on Oct. 24, 2026.
What is new, and when fans can get it
The new release brings together the recorded history of Wyman’s ever shifting Rhythm Kings lineup in one box. Ultimate Collection is out now, with U.S., Canada and U.K. editions available from Oct. 9.
The set totals 144 tracks. It pulls together five studio albums, including the 24 song double set Double Bill, plus two live albums, a collection of studio outtakes, and Best of the Bootleg Kings, a newly assembled live compilation that Wyman put together for this release. It also adds non album B sides and more live recordings that had previously only been available on video.

Why this box matters to fans of Wyman’s later years
For listeners who know Wyman first as the Rolling Stones bassist from 1962 to 1993, the box spotlights the band that occupied much of his post Stones career. The Rhythm Kings launched with 1997’s Struttin’ Our Stuff, built around Wyman and long time collaborator Terry Taylor, with guests including Albert Lee, Eric Clapton, Gary Brooker, Georgie Fame, Paul Carrack and Peter Frampton. Beverley Skeete, Mike Sanchez, Graham Broad, Frank Mead, Nick Payn, Dave Hartley and Martin Taylor became regulars in the group.
The later albums trace an expanding circle of familiar names from classic rock and roots music. Anyway the Wind Blows brought Andy Fairweather Low into the fold, alongside guests Chris Rea and Mick Taylor. Groovin’ featured Ray Cooper. Double Bill added George Harrison. Just for a Thrill included Mark Knopfler.
The live side of the band is also a big part of the package. Live and Live Communication were recorded in Germany in 2004 and in the U.K. in 2008. The Studio Time collection gathers 15 outtakes from eight sessions recorded between 1987 and 2003.
The box comes in deluxe 7 inch single sized packaging with a 24 page booklet, photos from Wyman’s archive, and a new interview with Wyman and Skeete by Paul Sexton. A limited edition version with an art print signed by Wyman is also being offered.
