22 Throwback Pictures Of Your Favorite Celebrities Wearing Cringey 2000s Fashion Designs on 'TRL'
TRL was our first memorable glimpse at emerging dressing styles and beauty trends.
Do you still remember the times you rushed home from school just to catch that interesting show? Do you recall the notable program, Total Request Live, which debuted in 1998 and was hosted by Carson Daly?
The show quickly became a must-see television program for a whole generation of music lovers, particularly because MTV often featured the latest and hottest pop artists and boy bands as performers and special guests.
We’re talking about the likes of the Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears, NSYNC, Destiny’s Child, Christina Aguilera, and more. The show was also the place to see the world premieres of the newest music videos.
Indeed, this was long before we could watch all the latest music videos on YouTube whenever we wanted. TRL completely set the vibe for pop music at that point in time.
Looking beyond the music, TRL was our first memorable glimpse at emerging dressing styles and beauty trends. The vast majority of us would rush to the shopping mall to find clothing, accessories, and cosmetics that would help us look more like our favorite music superstars.
Well, TRL's prime was in the early 2000s, which was a truly questionable time for fashion. So keep scrolling and prepare for a nostalgic trip down memory lane as you see these celebrities' sketchy looks.

The superstars we saw on TRL were the fashion guinea pigs, and they would make appearances on the set in outfits that we now find cringe-worthy when we look back.
