Even celebrities have to be bridesmaids sometimes.
We are mostly used to seeing celebrities as the absolute center of attention at most events they attend, and that role in weddings is usually taken by the bride, not the bridesmaid. Hollywood's biggest stars sometimes also serve as bridesmaids for their friends or family members; it is one of the few times they step out of the spotlight and take on this important role.
This time, our favorite stars will not be walking on the red carpet while wearing stylist-selected couture gowns that steal all of the spotlight. It almost feels unnatural to see them in a demure bridesmaid dress, yet they still rocked the hell out of them.
Whenever they are needed by the people close to them, they step out of the spotlight for them. Taylor Swift served as her hometown BFF's maid of honor and gave a maid of honor speech as well; Lady Gaga served as bridesmaid for two friends, and several other celebrities such as Lena Dunham, Beyoncé, and Lauren Conrad have some super-sweet celebrity bridesmaid stories.

Being chosen as a maid of honor may be the greatest privilege as a friend. Several duties come with being a bridesmaid, which makes it a serious commitment. Whoever is chosen to fulfill that role has to act as the bride’s best friend and best supporter.
These stars looked absolutely gorgeous as maids of honor, so I bet they still stole some of the spotlight just by being present at the wedding.
