13 Details About Celebrity Homes That Really Mark Them As The Homes Of The Rich And Famous
Imagine having a built-in spa or having four separate rooms in your closet.
When we were young, we all dreamed of building our own houses when we grew up, right? We even drew pictures of the rooms, the general structure of the house, what we would fill it with, and what we would do with it.
It was one of those things you simply did as a child because, although you loved your home back then and enjoyed staying with your parents, a part of you always wanted the independence of having your own home. Celebrities had that too.
Aside from dreaming of being in the spotlight, they also envisioned the kinds of cars they would have and the type of house they would build once they reaped the rewards of their hard work. And, of course, when they finally got their big break, many of them set out to build their dream homes.
With the kind of money celebrities earn, we know that their homes aren't just going to be plain and simple. With enough cash to cater to their every taste and whim, why keep it all low-key, right?
There are certain details that will make you think, "Yep, this is definitely the home of someone who is famous and rich." Here are some of those details from some of the most famous celebrities' homes out there.
1. Lenny Kravitz
Lenny Kravitz has a farm on his property in Brazil, and by farm, we don't just mean your usual farm. No, his farm is absolutely massive, and he has filled it with animals like horses and cattle.
Whenever he has visitors, he even serves them farm-to-table meals.

Jay-Z has been a longtime admirer of the late artist Jean-Michel Basquiat, and he has at least one Basquiat painting hanging in his home. In 2013, he bought Basquiat's painting "Mecca" from 1982 for $4.2 million.

3. Ashley Tisdale
Before she opened her doors to Architectural Digest, Ashley Tisdale's bookshelves were completely empty. So, what did she do?
She sent her husband to the bookstore to buy books to fill them up. On that trip, he bought four hundred books just for the home tour.

4. Mariah Carey
Mariah Carey's Tribeca apartment doesn't have your typical closet. Not only does she have a gigantic walk-in, but she also has various rooms in her closet dedicated to different luxurious items.
One room is for gowns and dresses, one is for shoes, and another is strictly for lingerie.
Oh, and one other thing that nobody else has that she does? Marilyn Monroe's white piano from her childhood.

5. Barbra Streisand
On Barbra Streisand's California property, she doesn't just have one house or two; she has four buildings.
Just outside one of the buildings, a barn where she records music, there's a tranquil, color-coordinated pond. "Since the houses are barn red and trimmed with black and white, the fish in the pond, of course, have to be black and white — right?" she wrote in her book My Passion For Design.

6. Kim Kardashian
Like Streisand, Kim Kardashian also has a penchant for color-coordinating. Since the interior and exterior of her house in Calabasas strictly contain neutral colors like gray, cream, and black, she decided to make her basketball court and luxurious cars cream, gray, and black as well to match the overall aesthetic of the home.

Naomi Campbell has four pools in her beautiful Kenyan villa, but more than that, she also has a built-in spa. Inspired by the late Henri Chenot, a pioneer in the health and wellness community, her spa has a huge waiting area and a room where she and her guests practice hydrotherapy.
There, they first bathe regularly for 30 minutes, and then they step into a second tub for a mud bath.

8. Cate Blanchett
Before she entered acting, Blanchett was very interested in becoming an art collector, and it seems that she's fulfilling that dream on her property in East Sussex, where she plans to build an art gallery. In the museum, she plans to display her personal art collection featuring pieces by Paula Rego, Zhang Huan, Rosalie Gascoigne, and Bill Hammond.

9. Serena Williams
While Blanchett wants a separate museum for her property, Serena Williams incorporated one into her living room in her Miami home. As soon as you walk into her formal living room, you're greeted with pieces by artists like Kaws and Radcliffe Bailey.
Her piece by Bailey titled Astro Black actually features a legitimate rock from the moon.

10. Big Sean
Big Sean's home used to be owned by Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash, and it has its own custom nightclub in the basement. It was already there when Big Sean moved in; however, he made some slight changes to the original setup.
Big Sean kept the black interior, the skull-shaped lights, and the stripper pole, and changed everything else. He also replaced the couches because he "didn't know what the f*ck [Slash] was doing down here."

He owns items from Disneyland and Disney World rides like It's a Small World, The Haunted Mansion, and Snow White's Enchanted Wish. He even managed to snag a gigantic Disney sign from eBay back when the site was just starting.

12. Adele
This one is pretty unusual, but Adele has a piece of gum chewed by Celine Dion framed in her home in California. When Dion did Carpool Karaoke with James Corden in 2019, Corden asked her to spit her gum into a piece of paper and had it sent to Adele, which the singer apparently cherished.

13. Carrie Fisher
Carrie Fisher had pretty eccentric taste when it came to her home decor. For her home in California, she collected tons of eccentric items and placed them around every nook, room, and cranny of the house.
She had things like a player piano in the bathroom, a traffic light hanging from a tree in front of her house, and funny Pozac art in the kitchen. And she pulled it off.
As it seems, she's the only person who could actually pull it off.
