Texas Is Currently Dealing With Its Coldest Weather In Over 30 Years, And People Aren't Coping With It That Well
It happened back in 1989, and it's happening again.
Texas is in the middle of a brutal winter blast, and the state is feeling the strain in a big way. With temperatures dropping below -10°C (14°F) and power outages spreading across millions of homes, everyday life has turned into a scramble to stay warm.
The storm has already caused widespread damage, from frozen pipes to blackouts and emergency rescues, while people across the state try to get through another night without reliable electricity. What makes it even more surreal is that many Texans are dealing with snow and ice they rarely see at all.
And as the photos keep rolling in, the mix of hardship, improvisation, and dark humor says a lot about how strange this freeze really is.
