Woman Accidentally Ruins Her Colleague's Wedding by Getting Them Arrested All for Sharing a Photo with the Groom's Ex-Wife
This wedding has everything from cheating partners and a stolen wedding dress to the police showing up!
One wedding photo turned into a police visit, and a workplace drama that nobody saw coming. What started as a simple invitation quickly spiraled into a mess involving a cheating ex-husband, a stolen dress, and a very awkward ceremony.
OP works with Mary and Adam, who were once married before Mary left the company and later divorced Adam after he cheated on her. Years later, Adam invited OP to his wedding to Chelsea, the woman he had cheated with, and OP ended up sending Mary a photo of Chelsea in a dress that looked a lot like Mary’s missing wedding gown.
That one message set off a chain reaction that brought the police to the venue, and things only got messier from there. Read on.
Adam joined in the argument, but the police had had enough, so they brought them in for questioning.
All of the guests decided to leave while OP tried her best to call Mary, who refused to pick up the phone. Everyone later found out that Chelsea had indeed stolen Mary's wedding gown and family heirlooms.
Mary saw them in the photo that OP sent, which led her to call the police. Mary had previously asked Adam if he had seen Mary's things, but he denied ever seeing them. So when Mary saw OP's photo, she knew Adam had lied to her.
The police made Chelsea leave the wedding dress and jewelry at the station. She went home in her underwear and Adam's jacket after making bail.
When Adam returned to the office, he went straight for OP and blamed her for the whole ordeal. He called her an a**hole for sending the photo to Mary and subsequently ruining his wedding.

The police in OP's country sure do act quickly

That photo changed the whole mood in a hurry.
Wedding drama doesn’t always end with arrests, it also looks like a best friend’s destination wedding dilemma over whether to expose cheating.
How odd is that tidbit?

I wouldn't put it past Adam to lie to Chelsea about the origins of the dress and jewelry

Did they do another wedding ceremony after that fiasco?
LadyGreyIcedTea
Was Chelsea that naive?

We also wonder if Adam wasn't fired from his job for the serious accusations against him

To Adam, OP is the a**hole. To Mary, OP is a good friend who helped her retrieve her stolen possessions.

First of all, why would you steal your ex's wedding dress and family heirlooms, give them to your new bride, and not think twice when she wears them at your very public ceremony? Is it arrogance or stupidity?
It's a thin line, and we can't honestly tell. In summary, OP is not an a**hole for sending those pictures to Mary. Adam and Chelsea ruined their own wedding when they stole from Mary.
That wedding was never going to end quietly.
Before you judge, read how one AITA sister accused another of stealing a family heirloom, without proof.
