27 Entertaining Comics Packed With Unexpected Twists
Sneaky, sneaky, brilliant twists.

Life is truly unpredictable in many ways. Even though the collective population of this planet has shared similar experiences throughout their lifetimes, it's always amusing when something or someone catches us off guard with a hilarious real-life twist. Life itself is full of quirks, which makes the lives of people both peculiar and similar to one another.
That being said, Ryan Kramer, an artist also known as ToonHole Ryan on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter, has drawn a series of comics that feature unexpected and funny twists—an ode to the strange qualities that our world and society possess. Ryan is part of ToonHole, a group of friends who illustrate hilarious cartoons and share them on their social media.
Now, ToonHole Ryan has over 98,000 followers on Instagram, and he continues to entertain his fans with his engaging works. ToonHole was officially launched in 2010, and the group of friends has certainly come a long way.
Apart from creating comics, Ryan also finds joy in fitness, raising kids, meditation, and philosophy. “Writing a good comic means I have to allow time for my mind to wander so I can capture an idea worth drawing,” Ryan said about his creative process.
“A comic from start to finish usually takes anywhere from 2 to 6 hours, depending on complexity and style,” he adds. Ryan is extremely grateful for the support and readership he has gained over the last 10 years—he describes himself as “a humble person making the world's most hilarious comics ever created,” and his thousands of followers can certainly attest to that!
“I hope my work brings a little more joy into the world because creating these comics has surely given me immense pleasure,” he says. Take a look at 30 of his best works below!

“I met the other ToonHole guys in college, and we bonded over a love of old cartoons and similar drawing sensibilities. It’s always a challenge to grow your audience consistently since media platforms are always evolving and moving the goalposts,” says Ryan.
“It’s also a challenge to get big accounts and content aggregators to appropriately credit your shared work,” he adds. Good thing they remained consistent throughout the decade and achieved their well-deserved exposure and success!
