Mom Makes Curriculum For Her Sons To Become Good Husbands, Son Shares His Experience Years Later
Sometimes it turns out that a mother knows best.
Some parents teach manners at the dinner table, and some go a lot further. One TikTok video from Doug Weaver has people talking after he revealed that his mother built a full curriculum to help him and his brothers become good husbands one day.
The lessons, called "Husbands in Training," covered everything from etiquette to consent, and Doug says the effort shaped how he and his brothers approach marriage now. His story also includes a few funny details, plus a family tradition that followed them all the way to their wedding days.

TikTok blogger Doug Weaver shares how his mother had been teaching him to be a better husband for years
dougweaverartWhen Doug uploaded his video, it immediately went viral, gaining more than 5.6 million views and over 1.3 million likes in just a few days, and it's no wonder why.
In the video, Doug explained that his mom's curriculum included a variety of materials, some of which were incredibly helpful and others not as much. Among the latter was an adult film quiz that he hopes will never see the light of day.

While it did contain some elements that seemed silly, Doug admits that the course turned out to be incredibly useful for him and his brothers. It covered everything from dining etiquette to chivalry and how to avoid mistakes in building a strong relationship.
Some of these lessons included what to do if your spouse shares incorrect information, how to handle situations where something inappropriate is said in public versus in private, when it's appropriate to correct them, and when it's not.
There were also a lot of things that everybody can actually learn from

Before she met their father, Doug's mom experienced some poor relationships in her life, so all the lessons she taught her sons were based on her personal experiences. These lessons included the importance of consent, the basics of respecting and honoring women, and, of course, how to listen to them effectively.
When Doug was in high school, even his father decided to join the lessons, having learned a lot from them as well. Doug's father realized that he hadn't been taught many of these things when he was growing up, so he decided to learn from his wife.
Their mom even created a certificate of completion, which she signed and gave to her sons on their wedding day.

Although he's not too keen to revive everything, Doug wants to share some of these lessons with his own son. He said that he'll definitely teach him how consent works, how to properly identify when women are in distress, how to intervene appropriately, and more.
He also believes it's important to teach about healthy conflict resolution and other valuable skills.
Doug has noted that he and his brothers are all married, and their wives truly appreciate the lessons their mother imparted to them.
