One artist from India taps into our natural inclination for funny and weird content and has decided to combine both into intelligent and hilarious comics. His comic strips, ‘SpaceBoyCantLol,’ challenge logic and reality with situations that often end in unexpected twists.

Mohit Srivastava fell in love with comics when he was a child.

“My parents tell me that once I found a few comic books as a kid, I fell in love with them. While other kids my age were learning to read fairy tales, I was running around with my cousins, graphic novels in hand, just to look at the pictures since the advanced English used in those didn’t make any sense to me.

Growing up, I would draw comics on every piece of blank paper I could find in the house, even on the back of test papers at school. That way, I attracted a lot of detentions, but I have no regrets. Currently, I am working as a creative lead in a U.S.-based company.

However, my job is not entirely about comics, so I keep my love for comics alive through my social media page.”

Mohit was encouraged to pursue comic illustration by his younger sister, and we are glad she did, just like his 40k followers on Instagram.

“He is an astrophile, so when he was creating his comic page, he wanted that side of him to come out. He called it ‘SpaceBoyCan’tLol’ because he thought ‘SpaceBoy’ would represent him, and he would draw comics about funny situations in his life where he is at the receiving end.”
