Couple Goes Viral For Eating Without Paying After TikTok Video Accidentally Exposes Them
Diners and dashers
One of the best things to do is go out to eat. It eliminates the hassle of cooking and provides you with delicious food most of the time.
A lot of Americans indulge in the pleasure of eating out. Research shows that Americans usually eat out between four and five times a week. This means that they consume as many as 18.2 meals on average outside of their homes each month.
As lovely as eating out may be, it’s not always the cheapest option. This is why some people might be tempted to eat without paying, commonly referred to as dining and dashing.
Yet, no matter how expensive eating out may be, it’s never an excuse to do so without paying.
In some states, dining and dashing is considered a form of fraud. In states like California, it is classified as petty theft. However, in Mississippi, it is a felony offense to refuse to pay a bill over $25.00.
In places like Michigan, it is a specific statutory misdemeanor offense with a maximum sentence of 93 days in jail, a fine of up to $500, and a probationary period of up to two years.
Thankfully, not every diner and dasher gets away with it. We found a couple that went viral when they were accidentally caught on camera by a TikToker.

Enjoying the Pleasures of Eating Out, Only to Capture a Crime
@sierrapereaA TikToker identified as @sierraperea was taking a video of herself eating at one of her favorite restaurants but accidentally recorded a crime while doing so.
Caught in the Act
While taking the video, she caught two restaurant patrons, a couple, leaving the building without paying for their meal. In her words, "I was going to film what I ate at one of our favorite restaurants, but then the table next to us dined and dashed, and I got it on camera."
Comments Rolling In
The couple did not receive much support for their actions in the comments section, as many expressed their disgust at what they were doing.

Dine and Dash Can Seriously Mess Things Up for the Server

The couple had essentially had three courses and a meal replacement before they decided to bolt. OP's third caption provides a little detail:
"They had already gotten appetizers, soup, and salad, and had received her food and started eating it. She told them she wanted teriyaki chicken, not what she ordered. So he was going to make her a teriyaki chicken."
While the waiter was trying to get the chicken ready, the pair made a beeline for the Lexus parked in front of the building. Sierra quickly turned the camera around to capture the couple hastily exiting the restaurant.
Almost immediately after they entered the vehicle, OP got out and informed the owner of what had transpired.

The Stamp of Approval
OP further shared the name of the restaurant and its location so people nearby could try it out. "This happened at the Sopporo in Rivergate, TN. If you’re local, you should definitely go try it," she said.
OP received a deluge of comments letting her know they were in the area and would be checking out the business. Even though one server was unlucky enough to miss out on a tip, they could have plenty more opportunities in the future, thanks to the influx of TikTok fans.
