Disney’s New Belle Anniversary Doll Trades the Yellow Gown for a Rare Beauty and the Beast Look
Disney’s limited-edition Belle doll for Beauty and the Beast’s 35th anniversary swaps her usual blue and yellow outfits for green.
Belle collectors are getting an unexpected anniversary look. For a limited-edition Disney Store release tied to Beauty and the Beast, Disney is setting aside the princess’s best-known blue and yellow outfits and dressing her in green instead.
That change is what makes this release stand out for fans of the 1991 film. Rather than returning to Belle’s village dress or her famous ball gown, Disney has built the new collectible around the green outfit seen in the movie’s library scene. An Instagram post gave fans their first look before the doll arrives at the Disney Store.
This is a one-release switch, not a full overhaul of Belle’s signature style. The green design is being used for this limited-edition doll as Beauty and the Beast approaches its 35th anniversary. Disney has not announced a precise release date, but the collectible is expected to go on sale online at the Disney Store soon.

The doll does not simply copy the animated costume as it appeared on screen. Its color comes from the original movie, while the shape of the gown calls back to the ballroom dress seen in Disney’s 2017 live-action Beauty and the Beast. The look is also packed with rose motifs tied to the story’s enchanted rose, including a gold rose choker, roses embroidered at the center of the dress, and rose-colored bows on Belle’s shoes.
Disney is extending that theme to the packaging as well. The doll comes in a special Beauty and the Beast presentation box decorated with roses in the corners and finished with a dark blue ribbon handle.
For longtime fans, the costume choice points to a specific moment in the animated classic. The green dress appears when the Beast shows Belle the castle library, a scene that marks an important shift in their relationship. By focusing on that outfit instead of the more familiar blue-and-white village look or the yellow ballroom gown, this anniversary collectible gives one of Belle’s less frequently merchandised looks the spotlight.
