The biggest update is simple: Hexed now has its full official trailer, and it gives Disney fans a much fuller sense of the story before the movie reaches theaters on November 25, 2026.

The film follows Billie, an impulsive and unconventional teenager voiced by Hailee Steinfeld, and her cautious mother Alice, voiced by Rashida Jones. When Billie accidentally sets off hidden magical abilities, she is pulled into Hexe, a realm of witches where her unusual traits may finally make sense. According to director Jason Hand, Hexe is where Billie starts to feel seen for the first time, beginning a journey that leads her toward self-discovery, a strong link to magic, and long-kept truths about her own family.

The trailer also expands the world around her. In Hexe, Billie is welcomed by Ms. Quill, an enchanted feather quill pen voiced by Tracey Ullman, and Elias Quire, a magical journal voiced by Stephen Fry. Jodie Foster is part of the cast as Queen Celeste, described as the villainous queen of the witches. Walton Goggins voices Beef Roger Crumbchuck, a three-eyed green cat.

Why this Disney release stands out

Hexed is being billed as an original magical coming-of-age story, and it marks Walt Disney Animation Studios’ 65th animated feature. The new trailer suggests the stakes go beyond Billie learning how her powers work, with family secrets tied to changes that could affect the witches’ world itself.

The filmmakers behind it include directors Fawn Veerasunthorn, who was head of story on Raya and the Last Dragon, and Jason Hand, who was head of story on Encanto. Josie Trinidad is credited as co-director. Roy Conli and Yvett Merino are producing the film for Disney Animation Studios in Burbank, California.

For Disney fans, this latest trailer is the clearest sign yet of what Hexed wants to be: a bright, funny and magical original story centered on Billie’s discovery of who she is, and what her family has been hiding. The countdown now ends with a theatrical launch set for November 25, 2026.
