Disneyland Paris' Lion King show is pausing in 2027, and Disney already set the return date
Disneyland Paris will pause The Lion King: Rhythms of the Pride Lands from Jan. 7 to Feb. 12, 2027, with performances returning Feb. 13.
A Disneyland Paris "closure" for one of the resort's Lion King stage shows comes with a much shorter timeline than that word suggests. Disney has confirmed The Lion King: Rhythms of the Pride Lands will go on a scheduled break in early 2027, with its comeback date already on the calendar.
At Disneyland Paris, The Lion King: Rhythms of the Pride Lands will give its final performances of this run on January 6, 2027. The break begins January 7 and lasts through February 12, with performances scheduled to resume on February 13.
That means guests visiting Disneyland Park during that stretch will find the Frontierland Theater production temporarily unavailable, rather than gone for good.

The show first opened in 2019 and runs about 30 minutes. It retells Simba's story from cub to king through live vocals, dance, drumming and acrobatics, with songs including Circle of Life, Hakuna Matata and Can You Feel the Love Tonight.
The Lion King has been a major presence in Disney parks for decades. At Walt Disney World, Festival of the Lion King has been performing at Disney's Animal Kingdom since 1998, blending live singing, acrobatics, dancing and large puppets. At Disneyland Paris, the franchise is also central to future expansion plans, with a Lion King land in development at Disney Adventure World that will include a major water attraction set beneath Pride Rock.
The temporary stop for Rhythms of the Pride Lands also fits a broader pattern at Disneyland Paris, where stage shows often operate in seasons and pause between runs. Mickey and the Magician previously went on hiatus from August 31 to December 12, 2025, and is set to close for most of 2027 because of refurbishment work at Animagique Theatre. TOGETHER: a Pixar Musical Adventure also took a scheduled break from August 3 to September 30, 2026.
For now, the key date for Lion King fans is February 13, 2027, when the Frontierland Theater show is due back.
