Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge picks up a 2027 water park perk, but Fort Wilderness campsites are excluded
Disney added free water park admission for Lakeshore Lodge check-in day in 2027, while Fort Wilderness campsites are excluded.
A small but notable 2027 resort perk update at Walt Disney World cuts in two directions. Disney has added the free water park benefit to Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge, while also confirming one Fort Wilderness stay type will not get it.
What changed for 2027 resort guests
Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge will include free admission to a Walt Disney World water park on check-in day in 2027. The benefit will be for either Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon or Disney’s Blizzard Beach, depending on park availability.
That adds another included perk for the new Disney Vacation Club resort, which Disney has said will open July 1, 2027. Disney had already confirmed that Lakeshore Lodge guests will receive both Early Theme Park Entry and Extended Evening Hours when the resort opens.
The water park offer is returning in 2027, but Disney has indicated it will again be limited to the summer. Specific dates have not been announced.

Who is affected, and who is not
The new addition matters most for guests planning to stay at Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge in 2027, especially anyone looking to turn arrival day into park time at a water park instead of waiting for the next morning.
At the same time, Disney has carved out an exception. The free water park perk will not extend to guests staying at the Campsites at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort in 2027.
For travelers comparing on-site options, that means the perk will only be available at select Walt Disney World resorts rather than across every resort stay type.
The update lands alongside other on-site benefits that help make Disney resort stays appealing to many guests, including complimentary Disney transportation around Walt Disney World and character appearances at select resorts. Disney has also already confirmed that Early Entry and Extended Evening Hours will return with 2027 vacation packages.
The immediate takeaway is straightforward: when Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge opens on July 1, 2027, its guests are set to receive the check-in-day water park benefit, but guests booked at the Fort Wilderness campsites will not.
