Why Disneyland Paris Is Pausing Frozen Ever After So Soon After Opening

Disneyland Paris will temporarily close Frozen Ever After from Sept. 13 to 24, 2027, less than 18 months after the ride opened.

Disneyland Paris has scheduled a temporary closure for Frozen Ever After, one of the headline attractions inside World of Frozen at Disney Adventure World. The notable part is the timing: the boat ride is set to go down less than 18 months after it first welcomed guests.

What changed, and when

According to the Disneyland Paris attraction listing, Frozen Ever After is due to close for refurbishment from September 13 through September 24, 2027.

The ride is a major part of World of Frozen, the Arendelle-themed expansion at Disney Adventure World that opened on March 29, 2026. That means the attraction will have been operating for less than a year and a half when the scheduled work begins.

For guests planning trips around Anna and Elsa, that date range matters. Frozen Ever After is the land’s main ride experience, so visitors heading to Disneyland Paris during that window will need to plan for its absence.

What Disney has not explained

Disneyland Paris has confirmed the refurbishment window, but it has not publicly detailed what work will be carried out.

There has been no official statement identifying whether the closure is tied to ride vehicles, scenic elements, show systems, Audio-Animatronics, lighting, sound, or routine upkeep. Disney also has not indicated that the attraction is closing because of emergency repairs or construction problems.

That leaves the reason open ended for now. Scheduled refurbishments are a normal part of keeping attractions operating to standard, but Disney has not provided a maintenance scope for this one.

What this means for World of Frozen visitors

The closure applies to Frozen Ever After, not to World of Frozen as a whole. Disneyland Paris has not announced a full shutdown of the land alongside the ride.

Disney’s destination information for World of Frozen points to other offerings in the area, including character encounters and themed entertainment, although availability can change. The wider land was introduced as an immersive take on Arendelle, with themed architecture, shopping, entertainment, and the signature boat ride at its center.

One extra detail for travelers: September 25 and 26, 2027 fall outside the published closure dates, but Disneyland Paris has not told guests to treat those days as a guaranteed reopening. Anyone building an itinerary around the attraction will want to check the resort’s operating calendar before locking in plans.
