Toy Story Land quietly reversed its Toy Story 5 character makeover at Disney's Hollywood Studios

Woody, Jessie and Buzz have dropped their Toy Story 5 costume add-ons at Hollywood Studios and returned to their classic looks.

A small character update just ended at Disney's Hollywood Studios. Woody, Jessie and Buzz Lightyear are back in their standard Toy Story Land costumes after a limited run of Toy Story 5 themed add-ons that began in July.

What changed in Toy Story Land

The temporary Toy Story 5 looks for Woody, Jessie and Buzz Lightyear have been retired at Disney's Hollywood Studios, and the three characters are once again appearing in their usual outfits in Toy Story Land.

The July update gave each character one extra detail tied to the upcoming film. Woody wore a red bandanna poncho, Jessie added a sheriff badge to her vest, and Buzz appeared with a star sticker on his chest panel. Those pieces are now gone.

That means Woody's classic look is fully back, including his yellow plaid shirt, cow print vest, neck bandana, sheriff badge, belt buckle and holster. Jessie has returned to her familiar costume without the added badge, with her yellow collar and cuffs, red hat with white stitching and cow print chaps visible as usual. Buzz is also back to his standard Space Ranger look, with the Space Ranger logo, yellow Lightyear label and his white, green and purple suit.

Who it affects, and what to watch next

For guests planning character photos, the biggest practical detail is that the meeting spots have not changed. Woody and Jessie still meet together near Toy Story Mania, while Buzz meets separately closer to the entrance to Toy Story Land. Meeting times can still vary through the day, so guests can check the My Disney Experience app before heading over.

The switch affects fans who track character costume variations as much as casual visitors. For longtime Toy Story Land regulars, these are the versions of Woody, Jessie and Buzz that have been in the land since it opened.

This return to the classic costumes is already in effect, but it may not be the final update of the year. During the 2023 holiday season, Woody, Jessie and Buzz all wore festive outfits, and those seasonal costumes first appeared in 2018, when Toy Story Land debuted holiday decorations. Similar holiday looks are expected again, although it has not been confirmed which characters will change or when those outfits would appear.
