Makeup Artist Creates Incredible Looks Inspired By Disney Characters

They made us believe in happy endings, princes, princesses, and magic spells. For many of us, our love for Disney has not wavered in adulthood.

There's no denying that Disney has played a significant role in most of our childhoods. Our favorite Disney films have likely taught us many valuable life lessons as we grew up, and our most beloved Disney characters were probably heavily featured in our childhood bedrooms. They made us believe in happy endings, princes, princesses, and magic spells. For many of us, our love for Disney has not wavered in adulthood.

Take, for example, Laís Cordeiro Rosa, also known as Lally or 'lallymakeup' on Instagram. Lally is a highly talented makeup artist from Brazil who recently went viral after creating a series of makeup looks inspired by Disney characters.

When asked how she came up with the idea, Lally said, “I love Disney and drawings in general! I use the colors of the characters and their characteristics. For example, for the villains, I always try to make the makeup darker.”

Lally has put a lot of thought into her designs, and each one is unique, focusing on a particular character or scene from a movie. She pays close attention to detail, using different colors and shapes to reflect certain traits or features of each character.

“I like to convey the character's personality in the makeup. For example, for a livelier character, I always try to use glowing elements, vibrant colors, etc. For a character like Ursula (The Little Mermaid), I focus on dark colors and defined shapes. I think the right color is the most important and also the hardest. I haven't done the Cinderella makeup yet because I haven't found the right blue,” she says.

26-year-old Lally has been a makeup artist for over nine years, starting her career at just 17 years old.

"I started to do thematic makeup because I was in a forum called DeviantArt, but I couldn't draw. I really wanted to create fan art! Then I started to get inspired by other makeup artists and created my own makeup," she said.

After a lot of patience and hard work, Lally is now able to proudly call herself a professional makeup artist (and a pretty amazing one at that!).

“I like to think that there is no right or wrong in art, and there is no right or wrong in makeup. Many people find thematic makeup strange and say they wouldn't use it... but it's not about using it; it's about expressing something I like. 'The only place success comes before work is in the dictionary' - I don't know the author, but my dad always told me that, and it's true. You may have talent, but if you don't practice to develop it and improve, you won't reach your potential,” says Lally about her philosophy as a makeup artist.
