What Disney Fixed Before Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Closes Again on November 2

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure has restored some effects at Magic Kingdom ahead of a multi-week refurbishment starting November 2, 2026.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is getting visible touch-ups even though a bigger shutdown is already on the calendar. With the Magic Kingdom ride set to close November 2, 2026 for a multi-week refurbishment, some show pieces have returned while other problems are still easy to spot.

Disney appears to be making selective repairs at Tiana’s Bayou Adventure instead of simply waiting for the planned closure to begin. Recent guest observations point to a ride that is partly improving and partly still operating with missing or inactive effects.

The embedded X post below captured that split picture, noting that Lari the armadillo has returned to the finale scene and that the Laughin’ Place jumping fountains are working again after being down for several months. The same update also said the exterior waterfall has been turned off and that the standing Tiana figure has been static for nearly two months.

What changed before the refurbishment

The most noticeable reported restoration is the return of Lari, a static armadillo figure near the Mardi Gras finale. Visitors had previously noticed the character was missing, and its reappearance restores one of the ride’s scenic details.

Another reported improvement is the return of the jumping fountains tied to the old Laughing Place area. Those water effects are a familiar visual element on the attraction, and their restoration brings back one of the ride features guests had seen out of service.

Not everything is back. According to the same observation, the standing Princess Tiana Audio-Animatronic remains in a non-moving pose. The mountain’s exterior waterfall was also reported to be off.

Who this affects, and when the bigger change starts

For Magic Kingdom guests riding before the closure, the immediate impact is a mixed one. Some scenes now appear more complete than they did recently, but parts of the attraction still are not fully operating.

The larger change takes effect on November 2, 2026, when Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is scheduled to begin a temporary multi-week refurbishment. Disney has not publicly explained the reason for each specific effect being restored or remaining inactive, and there is no confirmed timeline for when the static Tiana figure or the exterior waterfall will be addressed.

Until that shutdown begins, Disney is keeping one of Frontierland’s headline attractions available while continuing at least some maintenance work in view of guests. For fans watching closely, that means the ride’s condition can still change before the refurbishment officially starts.
