Mario is from Corato, Puglia, Italy. Corato is a town well-known for producing olive oil, but it is also "an agricultural and industrial center of the hinterland of Bari."

Corato was founded in 1046, so to say it has a rich history would be an understatement. Their town hall was built in the 16th century as a monastery, and although it is now surrounded by more modern buildings, it's easy to assume that there must be an abundance of artistic inspiration to be found wherever an artist may go.
