Magic Kingdom's Late Night Perk Is Returning to Its Wednesday Home in 2027
Magic Kingdom gets Wednesday Extended Evening Hours back on January 6, 2027 for guests staying at Deluxe and Deluxe Villa resorts.
One Walt Disney World planning detail is sliding back into place for 2027. Extended Evening Hours are set to return to Magic Kingdom on Wednesdays, putting the extra nighttime access back in the park's usual spot for eligible resort guests.
What changes on January 6
Starting January 6, 2027, Magic Kingdom is scheduled to host Extended Evening Hours on Wednesdays from 9:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. The benefit is available to guests staying at Deluxe and Deluxe Villa Resorts, who can remain in the park after other guests have left.
The posted hours could still change as the date gets closer. Even so, the return of Magic Kingdom to the Wednesday lineup restores a pattern many Walt Disney World visitors have come to expect.
Why this stands out for Disney World planners
For the last few years, the usual setup has been Extended Evening Hours at EPCOT on Mondays and at Magic Kingdom on Wednesdays, with a few exceptions. Each fall, Magic Kingdom's late night slot typically shifts away from that park for two reasons: Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party begins in August and runs through October, and Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party is offered in both November and December.
This year brought a few added schedule quirks on top of that seasonal move. One October date already shifted the extra hours from Wednesday to Tuesday. Disney's Animal Kingdom has also been used for some of these nights. That gives eligible guests more time in another park, but the offering is not the same as Magic Kingdom's. Animal Kingdom has fewer attractions available during Extended Evening Hours, and because that park closes earlier, the extra time there is typically 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
The January return is also notable because the last Wednesday Extended Evening Hours at Magic Kingdom took place on September 9, 2026. More broadly, 2026 marked a year in which all four Walt Disney World theme parks offered Extended Evening Hours. For travelers mapping out resort stays and nighttime park plans, the key update is simple: Magic Kingdom is back on Wednesdays beginning January 6, 2027.
