The man (OP) behind this story, a 50-year-old who’d always been smart with money, used to help out his friends and relatives whenever they hit a rough patch.
But after getting burned too many times (people ghosting him after borrowing or acting entitled because they knew he had savings), he finally decided enough was enough.
Back in his 20s, OP came up with a genius plan. He opened a new bank account and would regularly put in money to handle bills and groceries for that particular day. This meant that the balance was always low.
