So I'm (28F) and I have this adorable pet turtle named Sheldon. He's been with me for years, and I absolutely adore him.

My family is planning a big reunion at a beach house next month.

For me, Sheldon is family, and I can't imagine leaving him behind for a week while I go off to have fun. I've expressed my concerns to my family, but they insist it's a non-negotiable rule.

For background, my family has never been the most pet-friendly. They see pets as a burden and don't understand the bond I have with Sheldon.

It breaks my heart to think of leaving him in a pet hotel while I'm out having a good time with my family. I've tried to reason with them, explaining that Sheldon is like a child to me, but they won't budge.
