Annual New Year Trip - Lady Gets Revenge For Being Tossed Out To Please Ex's New GF
"It would be better if I didn’t come so there would be no drama on the trip"
Exploring with others can bring a whole new dimension, but traveling alone has its own freedom and sense of adventure. But let's be honest: traveling in a group can be challenging.
When you travel alone, you have complete control over how you wish to explore, choose your own places and create your own pace. But then, there's a certain thrill to traveling with friends: the delight of discovering new locations together, inside jokes and shared laughter.
One of the nicest things you can do is to share memories with your friends. Having these unique recollections enhances the significance of vacation, which is a significant occasion that is uncommon.
It's not all games and fun, though. Traveling with friends can provide a number of difficulties. Each person's travel preferences, financial situation, and objectives are taken into consideration, and stress can easily arise if things aren't handled properly.
The OP of today's story has been traveling with her friends every new year since they were 16. They are in their early twenties now and it's a friend group of 6 people - 3 girls and 3 guys, and naturally they all dated someone from the group at some point in high school.
Now OP's ex has a new GF who was coming with them for the trip that the OP already made arrangements for. This GF decided she wasn't comfortable with the OP tagging along but they weren't prepared for the repercussions.
The OP writes...
RedditAmy is uncomfortable with the OP going on a trip because everyone is coupled up and she was single
RedditWhen OP's friends learned about her trip to Amsterdam, they just assumed they are coming with them as well

I am still going on a trip with my roommate, we actually got few more people to come so it’s more like a group thing now ( none of my old friends haha). Considering my old friend group I did see some of them few times and cleared some things up.

You can say that friends are the family you choose. Naturally, as long as friends are together, they can create memories of almost anything, but vacation memories usually stand out a little more than the one time you binge-watched all the morning talk shows while drinking coffee.
You can be your even more bizarre usual self around them because of this. Even while they do occasionally irritate you, you can fall more in love with the family you've chosen by letting loose on vacation with your best friends.
The OP was declared not the AH, and you can drop your own verdict in the comments.
