Kat Von D's Garden Full Of Black Flowers Is What All Your Goth Dreams Are Made Of

When it comes to flowers, black might not be high on your list of favorites, but we believe this list may just change your mind.

Kat Von D has never been shy about bold style, and her garden follows the same rule. Instead of bright blooms, she has filled it with dramatic black flowers that feel straight out of a gothic fairytale.

The makeup artist and tattooed style icon wanted something moody and unusual, and the result is a garden packed with dark petals, rare varieties, and plenty of eerie charm. Each flower adds to the look, and together they create a space that is equal parts striking and unexpected.

Black Dahlia

"As many of you might already know, flowers have been associated with meaning for ages. In the Victorian era, Black Dahlias represented a good wish for a couple and commitment," Kat says.

"I never grow tired of these black beauties."

Panda-face Ginger

"Note the velvety texture of the petals," states Kat. "This flower is not culinary ginger, but is referred to as 'ginger' for its scent when crushed."

Hello Darkness

"This sweet little girl has been teasing me every morning while I patiently wait for her glorious arrival here in my black plant garden! She’s a special type of Bearded Iris," Kat said. "Appropriately named since her species of Iris far surpasses all other dark Iris in the sheer degree of her black color."
