Teenage Girl Shares The Hurtful Comments Made About Her Homecoming Picture By Women In A Facebook Group

Grace had a night she will never forget in a hurry

Imagine that feeling when you have a successful homecoming and a lovely time dancing with your boyfriend, only to hear harsh comments about yourself when you return home. It must be absolutely heart-wrenching.

This was the exact situation 17-year-old Grace Brumfield, a junior at a high school in Alabama, found herself in. Grace recently attended homecoming with her boyfriend, Zach, with whom she had a photoshoot in a sunflower field prior to the dance.

Grace looked stunning in her gown, and she made clips and shared them on TikTok. Indeed, Grace had a night to remember.

However, Grace’s looks became the target of very harsh and derogatory remarks from some women online. Grace received a lot of verbal abuse after her boyfriend’s mother posted the photos in a Facebook group, Sunflowers and Daisies.

Women in the group referred to her as "trashy," and one even stated that by wearing that dress, she was begging to be assaulted and raped. It’s difficult to imagine what Grace was thinking while reading those comments about her.

Although Grace felt confident in this stunning gown, she was dispirited when she discovered that the women in the Facebook group were harshly shaming her dress. What surprised Grace the most was that the majority of these online bullies were grandmothers.

Yes, they were all mothers and grandmothers.

As a victim of sexual assault, Grace was enraged by a particular comment that suggested she was begging to be assaulted and raped. Grace then uploaded a video of her homecoming gown and the vile abuse she received on her TikTok page.

The video clip garnered more than 10 million views and sparked a much-needed discussion about baby boomers' hatred on the internet, which is all too common.

The most shocking thing is that so many people complimented her dress, but the women in the Facebook group ruined it all.

One may say that Grace's case is an example of older women hating on younger women, and that it's all based on envy. It’s obvious Grace took the picture without any ulterior motive in mind, but society will always have its opinions about everything.
