Housemates Discover Something Disturbing in the Fitzroy Attic of Their Rented Townhouse

"There was some creepy stuff up there."

A group of Australian housemates recently made a rather disturbing discovery in the attic of their rented townhouse. The group decided to investigate after a previous tenant randomly told them there was "something up in the roof."

What they found was, to say the least, a little sinister. A "stalker shrine" covered one of the walls and was filled with film-developed photos, some old clothes, football boots, and, perhaps most disturbingly, zip lock bags holding various items such as used band-aids, hair, and discarded cigarettes.

"It was really, really scary stuff," said Matt Martin, whose girlfriend lives in the house. "Everyone in the house was pretty much terrified... There was some creepy stuff up there."

The photos, which appear to have been taken in the early 90s, depict a football player and another man. Some of the zip lock bags also contained unknown liquids.

Martin says they spoke to their real estate agent about the abnormal findings. The agent then contacted the owners of the house.

The owners advised that they had been alerted by builders who were renovating the house before the group moved in that something was up in the attic.

"They said not to worry about moving it," Martin said. "I don't think they've actually seen all the stuff."

When Martin shared a video of the attic on TikTok, many of his followers left comments urging him to go to the police, so that's what he did. "We called the hotline, and they pretty much just said if there are no body parts, don't worry about it," Martin said.

Despite being told there is no need to move the items, the housemates understandably aren't too keen on leaving the shrine in their home. "I think one of us is going to have to do the dirty work and get it all down and throw it all out to make sure it's all gone," Martin said.

The group says they are also going to perform a house cleanse. House cleansing is a way to clear the home of negative energy, sometimes using essential oils or smoke.

The Fitzroy house was purchased by the current owners in 2016. At that time, the townhouse was advertised as being available for sale for the first time in generations.

Surely there must be an epic story behind this secret stash of unusual items. Although it is most likely a creepy one, we would love to hear it and find out who is responsible for the shrine and, more importantly, why.

What do you think the stalker shrine is all about? We would love to hear your thoughts in the comment section.
