Company Gets Called Out For Having The Most Insane Quitting Policy
Once you get in, there is no coming out...
A company policy is making the rounds online for all the wrong reasons, and people are stunned by how far it goes when an employee quits.
The story centers on a girlfriend's former job and a resignation document that reportedly says tips would be withheld and compensation reduced after notice is given. Shared in Reddit's r/antiwork community, the post quickly drew attention because the policy sounds harsh, confusing, and possibly illegal.
Now the internet is picking apart every line of it.
OP posted an interesting document showing how his girlfriend's last company viewed quitting.

u/Particular_Ticket_85This is where the comments start getting heated.
Redditors believe this is not legal in the US. Additionally, they also considered some illegal actions as a response.

Some states have different laws.

Yes, they could've made it sound much nicer. But why bother? These ungrateful workers wouldn't appreciate it anyway...
It’s the same kind of pressure as the son being asked to move, while the family hides debt, in Family Asks Me to Move for Better Job Opportunities, but Theyre Hiding Debt - WIBTA for Refusing?.

That policy is doing the most, and not in a good way.
Yes, there is definitely some lawsuit material here...

Seems illegal. But only because it is.

Reducing already earned wages? This can't be legal. The UK says it is not.

OP and his girlfriend want to take the company to small claims court but are afraid of hurting the immigrant workers there.

It is also illegal in France.

Some companies have policies that protect them from disgruntled employees leaving immediately after receiving their checks.
Basically, what this company is doing is illegal in most countries. But it is immoral everywhere.
And that's a fact. The managers are obviously not aware of the definition of an idiot - it is a person who keeps doing exactly the same thing over and over under the same circumstances and fails every time.
And they never think of changing anything. The iron-fist management has failed.
Frankly, it never worked. You can't treat people like they are slaves whose only ambition in life is to earn money for your company.
Unfortunately, some managers still fail to see that. They have surrounded themselves with "yes people" who simply confirm whatever they think or say.
And they live in a bubble, totally unaware of the world around them. Well, it is time for some rude awakening.
Wait, it gets worse, read about how an AITA pet-policy break led to everyone’s ban.
