Family Drama Unfolds As Lady Reports Her Car Stolen Which Gets Irresponsible Sister Charged
"I'm pretty resolute in my position and don't believe I'm the AH here"
Having an irresponsible sister can be a challenging and emotional experience. It often means growing up faster than expected, carrying extra responsibilities, and constantly worrying about the consequences of someone else’s choices.
While family is supposed to be a source of support and stability, dealing with a sister who avoids accountability can create stress, frustration, and even resentment. This situation doesn’t just affect her life—it impacts everyone around her, shaping relationships, trust, and the overall dynamic of the family.
The original poster of today's story has such a person as her elder sister. It all started when they moved to the US from Finland. OP's sister stayed in Finland, though, saying she wanted to finish schooling, but this was a lie as she was secretly pregnant, dropped out, and they found out after they moved.
OP's parents still moved her over and took care of her. A few years later, the OP is 18 and in her senior year.
Her sister gets told that, since her nephew is about 4 and enrolled, she should get a head start during the day, as she needs to get a job. Suddenly, she ends up getting pregnant again.
The main issue here is that the OP bought a car with money she secretly saved from her first real job and left it behind to attend university, only for her sister to drive it without her knowledge.

The OP dished out more details in the comments and here's an interesting one
We aren't US citizens. I cant remember the exact way our visas are setup, I know that my sisters and I's were issues temporarily and then we got full residency because we were under 21 when we came here. My dad's work paid for our relocation and everything. I cant remember how my moms works. However none of us are US citizens yet. However in the next few years we all will be eligible for full citizenship. My sister has already had to talk to our family's immigration lawyer before with drug charges in the past unrelated to my post here and there has been a bunch of drama before. The more I've thought on this and started doing a bit of reading I'm really thinking she might be deported. It sucks and I can't help but feel bad, especially for my nephews.. but it is what it is...And the comments continues...

The OP says that at this point, she won't be going back. She also mentioned that she did tell her parents that the only way she'll talk to them again is if they come up there without her sister.
As you've already seen, Redditors backed the OP up, and in the end, she was declared not the AH. You too can dropyour own verdict in the comment section belo,w and don't forget to share as well.
