Jersey Shore's Ronnie Ortiz-Magro reveals what he credits for 4 months without drugs or alcohol

Ronnie Ortiz-Magro says he is four months clean and credits a treatment program for helping him reclaim his life.

Ronnie Ortiz-Magro has shared a major personal update, saying he has gone four months without drugs or alcohol. The Jersey Shore star posted the milestone on Instagram and framed it as a true fresh start after a period he says brought him to one of the lowest points of his life.

On Tuesday, Ortiz-Magro, 40, told followers he tried a medicine that he says freed him from what had felt like a constant struggle. He said he went to Beond, adding that he was not trying to sell anything, and credited the experience with saving his life and helping him get back his joy and love for the world.

He also said that in the four months since then, he has not taken medication for depression, anxiety or bipolar disorder, and has not had a drink or used drugs. He ended that part of his message by saying it is never too late to begin again and that his journey starts now.

The update marked one of his clearest public statements yet about where he says he is physically and mentally after years of being open about addiction and mental health.

What treatment he pointed to

The program Ortiz-Magro named describes itself as offering medically supervised ibogaine treatment for people living with PTSD, depression, anxiety and chemical dependency. According to its website, the treatment includes physician oversight, continuous cardiac monitoring, and structured preparation and aftercare.

After Ortiz-Magro shared his post, the company reposted it and said it had been an honor to support him. It also said it was cheering him on as his journey continues.

His post did not read like a polished celebrity statement. It came across more as a direct attempt to explain what he believes helped him and why he wanted to say it publicly.

The dark place he says he was in

Ortiz-Magro, who shares daughter Ariana Sky Magro, 8, with ex-girlfriend Jen Harley, has spoken openly over the years about both mental health struggles and addiction. At the beginning of the year, he said he was at one of the lowest points of his life.

He said his mental health and addiction took him to such a dark place that he questioned whether life was worth it. He explained that he had always struggled with both issues, but not at the same time, and said something inside him seemed to switch off. He said he stopped caring about the things that mattered most to him and began to resent the life he had been given.

In his latest post, he included photos that he said were there to remind him of a version of himself, and a place in life, he never wants to return to. He described himself from that period as hopeless, resentful and not present. He said the smiles were fake, and that even telling people he was doing well was fake, because he had lost enjoyment in his life.

He said he stayed in that state for months, even while knowing he was damaging everything he had built and hurting the people he loves. Ortiz-Magro added that he prayed every day for the strength to take his life back, and says he now feels much better mentally and physically. He finished by thanking people for the love and support.
