Harry Potter Series Is Reportedly Being Planned By Online Creators Which Will Portray LGBTQ Characters
Online creators are embarking on a diverse LGBTQ+ series set in the Harry Potter universe.
The Harry Potter series, produced by Warner Bros. and written by J.K. Rowling, consists of seven fantasy novels. The books follow the adventures of Harry Potter, a young wizard, and his companions Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley, who are all students at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
The primary plot revolves around Harry's battle with Lord Voldemort, an evil wizard who seeks to become immortal, topple the Ministry of Magic, and subjugate all wizards and Muggles, who are non-magical people. The books have gained tremendous popularity, positive reviews, and commercial success since the publication of the first novel, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.
They have a large adult audience as well as younger readers and are frequently regarded as foundational works of contemporary young adult literature. The books are part of the fantasy genre and are classified as "urban fantasy," "current fantasy," or "low fantasy."
They are primarily dramas with a somber and dark tone, although some significant instances of tragicomedy and black humor are sprinkled throughout. According to Rowling, death is a crucial theme in the series: "My books are essentially about death," and they begin with the deaths of Harry's parents.
However, the movie being made by the online creators is unlikely to have a dark theme. In this divergent version, the movie's theme will be queer-oriented, and Harry's parents will marry instead of dying.
Diverse LGBTQ+ Harry Potter series
Online creators are working on a diverse LGBTQ+ series set in the Harry Potter universe. Whether it's the disappointing Fantastic Beasts spin-off franchise or J.K. Rowling's contentious and reportedly transphobic beliefs, which have enraged many of the original films' stars, the realm of witchcraft and wizardry has taken a hit in recent years.
If The Cursed Child's popularity and the 20th-anniversary reunion prove anything, it's that fans aren't quite ready to bid farewell just yet. A group of dedicated fans in the United States is collaborating to produce their own magical series, complete with forward-thinking casting that will include LGBTQ+ characters.
'The Marauders, legendary creators of the Marauders Map, battle alongside the Order of the Phoenix against the Death Eaters during this time. They are rapidly rising to prominence, and while they may have been significant players at Hogwarts, they are now the most inexperienced members of Albus Dumbledore's secret society. The Order of the Phoenix is scrambling to stop Voldemort's ascension to power,' according to the production's Discord account.

Harry's parents, James Potter and Lily Evans, intend to change the world by marrying. Disowned by his blood-supremacist family, Sirius Black flees straight into the arms of his best friend, Remus Lupin, who is dealing with his own issues.
Peter Pettigrew, a shy outcast who adores his friends, fantasizes about escaping the horrible battle he's been thrust into. 'Alastor Moody, the head of the Order of the Phoenix, has more pressing concerns than supervising the newest recruits. Not only is the Ministry of Magic impeding his work, but the Death Eaters also possess an ancient artifact that is in the wrong hands and could be a lethal weapon.'
Mckelli writes on the site that the web series aims to reflect the diversity of the fans in its beloved characters, introducing people of color, queer themes, and characters of various faiths.'

There are several roles that are open to all types of ethnicities and identities. Some roles must adhere to a specific look; for example, the role of James Potter can only be played by Black, Indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC) with a masculine body, whereas the role of Sirius Black is also played by Black, Indigenous, and people of color, but it is open to all identities and genders.
J.K. Rowling has not yet confirmed or stated anything regarding the production, and it is also unclear if she has been granted permission for this speculated series. There is no confirmation on the release date or any other information regarding the characters and who would be playing them. On the contrary, she could also sue the creators for copyright infringement, but there’s no lawsuit that has been reported so far.
AlamyHarry Potter, though one of the most beloved series in the world, has faced significant criticism for not being supportive of the LGBTQ+ community. The writer J.K. Rowling and the artist have also been in the news for the same discussions.
Share this story with all your loved ones, especially Potterheads, and let them know about this new Harry Potter movie. Be kind and support the LGBTQ+ community.
