A Career Coach Gives Us All The Tips On What You Are Supposed To Lie About When It Comes To Job Interviews

Are we supposed to lie?

A 28-year-old woman went viral on TikTok, and it wasn’t for a funny story or a glow-up. It was for job interview “tips” that made viewers do a double take, especially when she started talking about what people are “supposed” to lie about.

In her video, she lays out a whole list, starting with the classic “where do you see yourself in five years” question, then moving to why you’re looking and why you want that specific company. It gets messier when she suggests you should also smooth over how you feel about past bosses and coworkers, plus how you present your hobbies and even your job title.

The real twist is how far she pushes the idea of tweaking your story, and whether anyone would actually say that stuff out loud.

Clearly, many people didn't know about this because she went viral on TikTok after sharing.

5. Lie about your job description and title.

Ultimately, this is one that surprised us. However, again, enhancing your self-presentation a little will be beneficial. Referring to yourself as a manager instead of a supervisor is just one label that can make all the difference.5. Lie about your job description and title.@anna..papalia

Here's the entire TikTok video.

She obviously goes into much more detail in the TikTok video. She explains what exactly you should and shouldn't say.

She also discusses why you should lie about these particular aspects during your job interview.

That TikTok clip hits hardest right away with her “five years” line, the part where everyone suddenly realizes they might not be telling the whole truth.

This also reminds us of the partner who hid a secret cam model job.

Then she turns to the reason someone is “looking,” and the whole vibe shifts from nervous honesty to carefully managed storytelling about that exact company.

Next comes the awkward part, when she tells you to avoid negativity about previous bosses and coworkers, because apparently hiring managers are listening for the same attitude.

By the time she gets to hobbies and your job description, even the “I’m just being myself” crowd is wondering if they should repackage their whole resume personality.

I know that we'll be taking this advice to our next job interview because these seem like some pretty awesome tips that many of us probably didn't even know about. It's amazing to see how a career coach can assist you with the interview process and help you land a great job.
