40 Lesser-Known Historical Facts That Will Make You Look at Today’s World Differently
Not well-known, but still awesome.

History isn't just about what happened in the past; it shaped the modern world. We can better understand the world that surrounds us by digging into historical facts.
The history books teach us about important events, wars, revolutions, and scientific breakthroughs. We also learn about significant historical figures, politicians, philosophers, and scientists.
However, history was made by ordinary people. They didn't have anyone to write about them, and they won't be acknowledged for their contributions in any school history book.
That's why it is important to get to know this "lesser-known" history. While nothing can replace good academic material, it's beneficial to mix it up with different types of content now and then to rekindle our enthusiasm for the subject.
We'd like to recommend 'Amazing History,' an Instagram account that focuses on visuals and posts lesser-known historical images to broaden the horizons of its followers. It's the best place to learn about the history that didn't make it into our books.
Here are a few nuggets that it has shared so far. We hope you will enjoy them, and we know you will find them extremely interesting.

Focusing on great battles and kings and queens is what makes people dislike history. It's the kind of history that drives many away from the subject because it's "elite" history that they cannot relate to.
When you see how an ordinary person lived a hundred years ago, that's something you can relate to. We don't know about you, but we believe we live better than we did a hundred years ago.
And all that is thanks to our common and humble ancestors.
