Woman States Why She Decided To Live Abroad Instead Of Returning To The USA, And Her Reasons Are Absolutely Incredible
If given the chance to live abroad, would you take the opportunity? Why or why not?
Every country has its own share of good and bad aspects that influence people's decisions to stay or leave. For example, when individuals no longer see themselves as productive and happy in their current location, they may decide to explore new places and find where they feel at home and content.
In addition to this, marriage, work, education, and other life opportunities are also reasons why people move from their hometowns and settle elsewhere. They might leave behind family members, friends, and memories, but they often gain more valuable experiences in their new surroundings, which lead them to choose to stay.
Take Aly, a TikToker with the username 'USA Mom in Germany,' who shared her reasons for never dreaming of returning to the U.S. after marrying her German husband. She posted the video in response to another TikToker named Brittney Ariane Vela, who asked other expats why they decided to settle abroad for good instead of going back to the U.S.
With over 722K followers, Aly uses the platform to inform people about the differences between countries and share her real-life experiences. Although moving to Germany wasn't easy due to the language barrier, she loves many aspects of the country, one of which is the slower pace of life.
A TikTok user asked Americans about the reasons they decided to stay abroad rather than return to the U.S.

"The purpose of my TikTok account is not to slam, drag, or put down the USA. My videos are meant to combat U.S. propaganda that portrays the USA as the best country in the world and, through this rhetoric, discourages a realistic view of other countries that often have social systems functioning better for their people," Aly explained.

"We created a pro/con list regarding moving to Germany and/or moving to the U.S. The most significant selling points for moving to Germany were universal healthcare, tuition-free education for our children, lower crime rates, and a lower cost of living, which were all at the top of our list," Aly said.

Although she has a better life now, Aly revealed that she misses several things about the USA. "Aside from my family back home, I miss a lot about Southern U.S. culture," she stated.
Aly's experience illustrates the reality for everyone who chooses to settle down in a foreign place. It doesn't mean they hate their country when they decide to leave; they simply want a better life for themselves and their loved ones.
