McDonald’s UK leak points to a January comeback for two long-missed menu items
A new McDonald’s UK leak claims the Chicken Legend and Breakfast Bagels could return in January, though no date is confirmed.
A new McDonald’s UK leak has put two retired menu names back into the conversation. An Instagram account known for food drops says the Chicken Legend and Breakfast Bagels are due back in January, but the chain has not confirmed it.
If the claim is right, the change would affect McDonald’s UK customers looking for two items that have been off the menu for years. The post below names January as the return window, but gives no specific date.
The rumour has caught on quickly because McDonald’s UK has already shown a willingness to revive old favourites. The Snack Wrap returned on October 6 after about 10 years away, which made another throwback launch feel possible to plenty of fans.
The two items named this time are big ones. The Chicken Legend was removed in 2022 after 15 years on the menu, with the McCrispy taking its place. It was sold in a ciabatta roll with lettuce and a choice of mayo, barbecue, or spicy tomato sauce.
Still unconfirmed
Breakfast Bagels have been gone even longer. They disappeared in 2020, and McDonald’s UK later confirmed in January 2022 that they were not coming back. At the time, the company tried to soften the blow by offering 99p McMuffins.
That has not stopped demand. The Breakfast Wrap returned in February 2024 after McDonald’s counted 22 petitions calling for it to come back, but the sausage, egg and cheese bagel still did not make it onto the restored list. That bagel included a pork patty, a folded egg and American cheese.
For now, this remains a leak rather than an official announcement. McDonald’s has not verified the January plan, and some commenters have already asked for proof before they get too excited. Others were much less cautious, treating the post as the news they had been waiting for.
Until the company says more, the only timing attached to either comeback is January.
