Woman Asks Reddit If She's Wrong To Be Upset That Her MIL Announced Her Pregnancy On Facebook

The betrayal is real, especially when it comes to such a profound moment in one's life.

Can you keep a secret? Usually, the answer to this question is always a confident, "Yes, of course!"

But the truth is, some people are just not good at keeping secrets. Try as they might, they just have to tell someone that juicy piece of gossip they promised not to share.

But what if that secret is actually an incredibly important piece of information for the people involved? Well, one young woman recently found out, and she turned to the Reddit community for help.

Reddit user u/Fallen-Grace5656 shared her story in the AITA (Am I The A**hole?) subreddit. You see, the 23-year-old and her husband had recently found out they were expecting a baby.

The Redditor explained that she wanted to keep the pregnancy a secret until she was ready to share it, as the couple wasn't sure if they were prepared to have a baby. However, her husband decided to tell his mother against his wife's wishes.

That may not have been so bad, except our OP's mother-in-law took it upon herself to share the happy news on Facebook for all to see! The Redditor understandably felt incredibly betrayed by her MIL, so she yelled at her and made her cry.

The Redditor's husband demanded that she apologize to his mother for hurting her feelings. So, she decided to turn to the subreddit for advice.

As always, the Reddit community had plenty to say on the topic. Scroll down to read the story in full and see how people reacted.

The Redditor asked, "AITA for yelling at my husband's mother for announcing my pregnancy using my husband's Facebook account?"

What's your take on this one? Do you think our OP was out of line for reacting the way she did, or do you think she was well within her rights to be angry?

The main issue here was that our OP felt betrayed, not only by her MIL but also by her husband. They both deliberately went against her wishes and essentially took a major life decision out of her hands.

It seems there is a lot of trust to rebuild in this family, which is never an easy task. We wish them all the very best.
