We have been obsessed with ranking people based on their physical attributes since the dawn of time, which is why beauty pageants exist. Each country wants to showcase that it has attractive individuals who can compete on a global scale.
Some people view these events as objectifying, while many others consider them empowering, which is, of course, a matter of opinion. Regardless, these shows are quite spectacular and entertaining to watch.
The 19th century marked the emergence of such competitions, with the first-ever known beauty pageant held in 1839 as part of a medieval joust re-enactment. The winner was crowned the 'Queen of Beauty.'
Today, these competitions are even more popular, as many of them are international contests. Beauty pageants for men, on the other hand, are not as popular as those for women, but there are still numerous contests hosted solely for men.
Mister Global, for instance, is a competition that has been ongoing for the last eight years in Thailand, and once again, they managed to amaze people with their national costume competition. Each contestant displayed a costume inspired by their country, and some of the results are truly majestic.

After going through this list, I was reminded of how beautifully diverse our planet really is—not just racially, but also in terms of art. These models all expressed themselves differently through the costumes they chose, and it's all beautiful—a refreshing change from the repetitive styles we're used to seeing.
In my opinion, they all deserve to win, but that's not how real life works. There will always be one person who stands out more than the rest. I wish them all the very best of luck and hope they at least get a fair chance to compete.
