24-Year-Old Puerto Rican Model’s Dreams Came True When She Became Victoria’s Secret’s First Model With Down Syndrome

Some dreams take years to reach, and Sofía Jirau’s latest milestone is one of those moments. The 24-year-old Puerto Rican model with Down syndrome has been building a name for herself in fashion, and now she has landed a historic role with Victoria’s Secret.
She first turned heads at New York Fashion Week in 2020, then kept growing her career through modeling and entrepreneurship. Her newest campaign for the brand’s Love Cloud collection puts her in the spotlight as Victoria’s Secret’s first model with Down syndrome, a breakthrough that has drawn plenty of attention.

She is currently focused on conquering the runways in Europe in 2022 and further growing her business. Specifically, she became an entrepreneur in 2019 by launching an online store named "Alavett," based on her favorite phrase "I love it," where she sells clothing, accessories, and home products.
