Brazilian Mom of 3 Reveals Her Creative Side and Shares Her Cosplay Passion with the Whole World

When you are passionate about something, it is never too late to start pursuing it, no matter how old you get. Life sometimes gets in the way of your dreams multiple times throughout your lifetime, but that does not mean you should give up trying entirely just because your initial attempts failed.

Meet Solange Nascimento Amorim, a 55-year-old mother of three and a proud grandmother who has inspired many people with her amazing cosplays. She is better known by her cosplayer name, Tia Sol, and her cosplaying skills are truly impressive.

Tia Sol is based in Brazil, but she has managed to take the world by storm after people discovered her cosplay online. She is constantly trying to come up with new costume ideas and designs, and when she follows through with them, the results never disappoint.

Her Instagram page has amassed almost 11,000 followers, thanks to her incredible cosplay skills. Tia Sol, or “Aunty Sun,” explained how she enjoys cosplaying as characters from the anime, comics, or series she loves watching, primarily focusing on those that people have mostly forgotten about.

I always took her to events, but I never thought about cosplaying because I didn't like to take pictures," explained Tia Sol in an interview with Bored Panda. "I suffered from depression, and I didn't like my appearance because I was short and chubby.""But one day, a friend of mine asked me, 'Sol, would you dare to cosplay?' I answered yes. She even doubted it. But I went home, talked to my children, and they encouraged me! I developed the idea and researched the character that suited me," she continued."I settled on Granny from Looney Tunes, had the clothes, bought the wig, and I also had Sylvester the Cat and Tweety the Bird made. So, everything was ready, and I went to the event, but I couldn't get in because I was so afraid of what people might say. However, people started coming to take pictures with me. I even participated in the cosplay parade and took 1st place. I was very afraid of being rejected by teenagers, but, on the contrary, I was well received!"
