In Classic Mom-Fashion, A Mom Interrupts Her Son’s Live News Shoot, Leaving The Cameraman, And Internet, In Stitches
Reporters' Mom delivers breaking wholesomeness, and we just love her for it.
It seems like parents have a special ability to embarrass their children. Is this something that is bestowed upon folks once they become parents?
Or maybe it’s a skill that's honed over time. Perhaps it is a skill that is carefully crafted over the years, starting from infancy, full of the embarrassing things we’ve put them through.
Regardless of how it comes to be, parents have a literal lifetime of embarrassing stories and experiences to share. Not to mention, as their children become adults, opportunities to embarrass them become more fruitful.
In a short clip that has rapidly gone viral, a journalist from Columbus, Ohio, Myles Harris, finds himself on the receiving end of some Grade-A wholesome embarrassment from Mother Dearest. In the clip, Harris is getting ready to record a segment for the ABC 6 news station when he spots a familiar car approaching.
Suddenly, with an exasperated gesture, the 30-year-old transforms into an embarrassed tween as he sees his 62-year-old mother, Sandi, driving up. Myles tells his cameraman, DeAngelo Byrd, “That’s my mom, hold on.”
This perfectly sets the scene as his ecstatic mom slowly drives up and stops to excitedly wave and yell, “Hi, Baby!” We can hear DeAngelo laughing in the background as he continues to film the short but sweet interaction.
Gosh, that feeds the heck out of my heart. Myles is a great sport about it and introduces his cameraman to his mom, to which she waves and says, “Hi, DeAngelo!” with the same enthusiasm as her heartwarming, “Hi, Baby!”
The love and pride we hear in Sandi’s voice are ubiquitous to those who have a loving and supportive mother. Although the interaction is brief, since Myles encourages her to move along to avoid holding up traffic, it is still so full of pure and unconditional motherly love.
As Sandi drives away with a laugh, Myles turns his attention back to his chuckling cameraman and seems bemused when he notices the camera is still running. “Did you record that?!”
Oh yes, yes he did. Thank the heavens for DeAngelo (and Sandi, of course).

There’s no way for Harris to have ever anticipated THIS to be his rise to fame when he joined the ABC 6/FOX 28 team as a multimedia journalist in 2021. But it’s worlds better than any type of scandal and exactly the type of content we need in this day and age.
Cheer up a friend or loved one and share this with them. There’s no way you can’t feel comfort and love when you hear Sandi talking to her baby.
