Disney Fan Creates Breathtaking Disney Heroine Series Inspired by the Czech Artist Alphonse Mucha
Whether or not you're familiar with Mucha or Art Nouveau, you'll easily fall in love with Hannah's designs.
Disney heroines have been reimagined in plenty of styles, but Hannah Alexander’s Mucha-inspired series stands out right away. The artist blends Art Nouveau elegance with familiar characters like Ariel, Belle, and Mulan, turning each one into a decorative portrait with a distinct mood.
The series began with Ariel and grew into a full lineup of Disney favorites, each tied to a theme that fits the character’s personality. The result is a gallery that feels both nostalgic and fresh, with every piece carrying its own visual identity.
By the time you reach the last image, it is hard not to wish she had made even more.
1. Mulan / Warrior
"Snapdragons represent strength, and orchids represent beauty. "
hannah-alexander2. Snow White / Innocence
"Flowers are: freesia for innocence, lilies for purity, and monkshood (which is poisonous) for caution."
hannah-alexander3. Belle / Ambition
"Peach blossom means 'I am your captive,' which can apply to many aspects of Belle's story. Lupine means 'imagination' (and it smells so good!)"

4. Tiana / Perseverance
"Spot the frogs! Flowers are alstroemeria (meaning aspiring) and the stargazer lily (meaning ambition)."

5. Rapunzel / Freedom
"Oh my goodness, I am in love with this movie. The songs go round and round in my head like a freakin' merry-go-round! (Also, I know her hair is shorter than the original version, but I simply couldn't draw 70 ft long hair!) Flowers are: mallow - sweetness, camellia - longing, white heather - wishes come true/protection."

It also reminds us of the “surprise vacation” dilemma, where a partner planned a trip despite fear of flying in this situation about thoughtful gesture or selfish move.
6. Jasmine / Passion

7. Pocahontas / Power

8. Aurora, Sleeping Beauty / Cursed
"Flowers are white poppy (which means sleep), rhododendron (which means caution), calla lily (which means regal), and the roses are a nod to the plot of Sleeping Beauty."

9. Megara / Repentance
"Megara is one of my all-time favorite Disney heroines, so I'm so happy to finally complete this piece in between commissions. Yellow tulips mean hopelessly in love, and anemone means forsaken."

10. Merida / Determination
"Flowers are day lily (Chinese symbol for mother), ferns (which mean 'magic'), foxgloves (which mean 'insincerity'), and gladiolus (which means 'strength of character')."

11. Alice / Curiosity
"Flowers - poppies (which mean sleep/dreaminess), daisies (which mean childish innocence)."

12. Ariel / Rebirth
"I chose to surround Ariel with lotus flowers because they represent rebirth. I wanted the whole piece to come out bluer, but green just came about naturally. I guess it makes sense, considering the rebirth theme anyway."

13. Elsa / Queen of Ice and Snow
"The flowers are snowdrops, and the birds are male cardinals. Ironically, snowdrops actually herald the beginning of spring."
