This Guy Applied To 60 Places That Were Hiring To Prove That People Are Willing To Work
This guy was sick of hearing about how everybody's hiring but no one wants to work.
You've heard about plenty of businesses all around the US complaining about staff shortages, especially for hourly work. After the pandemic has slowly died down and as businesses start reopening their doors and doing everything they can to attract customers, there are more job vacancies than ever.
Or that's what we're led to believe, because if there are more vacancies and people who are willing to fill them, then getting a job shouldn't be an issue for anyone. Joey Holtz had the idea to test if this is the case, and he conducted an experiment in which he submitted two applications a day for thirty days.
The results of the experiment were underwhelming for Joey, as he shared that out of the sixty applications, he received sixteen responses via email, four of those emails became phone calls, and he only landed one interview. The only interview he got was with a construction company that offered him a minimum wage, full-time position, even though he was supposed to only work part-time for the company.
Surely, it's needless to say that these results are just terrible and don't fit the scenario described to us by employers. Joey's experiment is an indicator that there are still plenty of people willing to work, but the employers are just being picky.
Scroll down to see more insight into Joey's experiment and what other people had to say about this whole thing.
Businesses all around the US have been complaining about a shortage of workers, creating an illusion that people refuse to work

It really doesn't make sense sometimes

It's crazy to see how many businesses are just lying about wanting to hire new workers. Even the ones that need workers are offering terrible pay and even worse conditions.
Then they wonder why they can't find anyone to work for them. Standards change every day, and employers have to adapt and offer more if they want to stay competitive.
