Clever Artist Reimagines Your Favorite Cartoon Characters in Their Old Age, and the Results Are Great
This artist recreated famous cartoon characters and shows what they would look like as they age.
Some artists imagine superheroes at their peak, but Lesya Guseva took a much funnier route and pictured them in old age. Her series, Pensioners, gives familiar cartoon and comic book characters a surprisingly ordinary retirement, complete with walkers, park benches, and hospital visits.
The Russian artist reworks icons like Ariel, Thor, Batman, Wonder Woman, and Spider-Man with the same personalities fans already know, only decades later. The result is a playful mix of nostalgia and realism, where even the strongest characters have to slow down eventually.
