Graffiti Artists Transform An Old Dorm With Stunning Renovations

Each painting tells a different story, showcasing what is important to the person who created it.

They didn’t just repaint an old dorm, they threw a full-on graffiti party inside it. Nearly 100 graffiti artists showed up, got the keys, and turned Cité Internationale Universitaire’s student residence into a sprawling, one-of-a-kind gallery.

The catch is what makes it feel extra bittersweet. The renovations were already needed, so the school opened the doors during Rehab 2, an urban festival running from June to July, and let the artists make any changes they wanted. For three weeks, the building became a canvas, and the results were stunning.

But the artwork is temporary, and next month the whole dorm is getting cleaned up for the real renovations to begin.

The moment the school welcomed nearly 100 graffiti artists, the dorm went from “needs renovations” to “how is this even real?”

During Rehab 2, the artists had three weeks to go all-in, basically treating the entire residence like one giant art wall.

When the festival wrapped, visitors got the rare chance to walk through a gallery that used to be student housing.

And right when everyone starts loving it, the school plans to remove the graffiti as the next phase of renovating kicks off.</p>

The graffiti at Cité Internationale Universitaire serves as a powerful symbol of self-expression and community unity.

It’s gorgeous, it’s loud, and it’s leaving next month, so you’d better see it while you can.
