Reddit Users Are Furious With a Woman Who Went Behind Her Husband’s Back to Pierce Her Daughter’s Ears and Landed Herself in Big Trouble
Everyone has rights, including kids who still can’t tell their right from their left. Therefore, it is essential to learn to respect boundaries.
Everyone has rights, including kids who still can’t tell their right from their left. As a result, some people believe that certain decisions should not be made for a child because they are not old enough to make those decisions for themselves.
On the other hand, some believe that children should be shown the paths to follow and that decisions should be made for them. Everyone has their own beliefs, but in our story today, we see the latter happening as a mother makes a piercing decision for her daughter behind her husband’s back.
This Reddit user, u/MajorOverreaction9, shared her story with the AITA Reddit community to ask if she was at fault for piercing her daughter’s ears without waiting for her husband to give the go-ahead. According to the 26-year-old woman, she provided her husband with three reasons, including that piercing is a normal thing for babies and that it looks good on them.
Still, her husband said he needed time to think about it. After weeks of no response from him, the woman’s mother encouraged her to go ahead with the piercing, believing that her husband would eventually come around and see it as a good thing.
The woman proceeded with the piercing, but little did she know that she was in for much bigger trouble with her husband and her in-laws. Keep scrolling to read the story in the author’s own words.

Marriage is a union between two adults who have decided to come together as one. Therefore, you can't just make decisions on your own because you feel it's your right.

Marriage is a union between two people, and important decisions like this ought to be made by both partners. Alternatively, the child should be left to grow up and make her own decisions.
