The New Christmas Tree Trend Is Pineapples And People Are Obsessed

by Elana

As with just about anything else on the planet these days, Christmas trees fall into trends that come and go as the years shift. No longer is society content with a classic, freshly chopped pine tree adorned with baubles and a shining star. Rather, each year we continue to strive further to find the next big thing, the next trend, the new perfect way to ring in the season.Β

Over the years we've seen a few creative attempts but they did not last, they just weren't classic enough.

But hold on, because 2017 may be the year that changes the game and brings us a new time-honored tradition. Perhaps 20 years from now we will look back and wonder how anyone carried on with anything else?

1. We have loved the Classic Christmas Tree for decades

Despite it's rich historical ties to pagan holidays, the Christmas tree has become a staple of the season.

2. But over the years there have been many traditions.

Like trees made out of stacks of books! Perfect trend for the book lovers, schools, and libraries. It's still a pretty cool idea that creeps in each year.

3. Other trends have been a little... unusual.

Like the upside down Christmas tree. No, it's not inspired by Stranger Things. It's a trend that most of us do not understand.

4. And then there is cultural diveristy!

Christmas trees naturally look different around the world as cultural traditions seep in and create their own inspiring tree traditions. Creels, by the way, are baskets used to trap crabs. What a fascinating concept.

5. And then there's always the question of what to do when you're broke.

People have gotten hilariously creative over the years when budgets are tight or enthusiasm is low.

Unsure what to do when tasked with their own tree, in their own home, for the firs time ever, many have abysmal results.
