Mom Made Her Son Do Push-Ups In A Public Bathroom As A Form Of Punishment For Misbehaving, And The Internet Says "Well Done"
There's a thin line between disciplining and inappropriate punishment.
Some parents keep their cool in public, and some make a scene that nobody forgets. In this case, a mom turned a restroom meltdown into a very unusual punishment, and people online had plenty to say about it.
The story centers on a boy acting out in a Hobby Lobby bathroom and his mother responding by making him do push-ups until he got the message. A Facebook post about the moment spread fast, and the reaction was split between shock and applause.
It was a strict move, but it certainly got attention.
This mom's unique way of teaching her son a lesson was so original that it was shared on Facebook. A woman named Molly Wooden from Fort Hood, Texas, posted a picture of the mother's idea of punishment in a Hobby Lobby restroom. The post received 14,000 comments and thousands of shares.
FacebookWooden offered her view on the punishment in this comment:
“To the woman in the Hobby Lobby bathroom: If my hands weren’t full of children, I would have applauded you. As your son gave you the back talk of the century, you stayed calm and collected while adding 10 more push-ups to his already growing number.”
The boy wasn’t thrilled with this penalty, but mom was determined.
That reaction pretty much set the tone online.

The drill-instructor mom and Wooden connected online, and she was okay with posting this video online.
She said:
“I have since found the mom through the power of social media, and she promptly thanked me for posting this.
[She] says she appreciates the support and positive comments, and we’re hoping to grab coffee sometime… while supervising push-ups, that is.”
This also echoes a parent battling relentless sister criticism, deciding whether to confront her.
People were clearly entertained by the whole thing.

This might not be a groundbreaking punishment, but it is certainly an interesting one.
